Let's Party

We pretty much have every family celebration in the last two months of the year. It gets hectic. I was very late in planning Laney's party. Luckily my fantastic Aunt Susan stepped in and helped with (i.e. did) the decorations. We did a rainbow theme and I thought it turned out really cute. I am a bad blogger and totally forgot to take a picture of the candy bar.

Naturally, the best part of the day was that Laney had a fantastic time with her friends and so did we.

Kendall was so interested in Will. She could not stop hugging him. She literally got into his car seat with him so she could give him more hugs before he went home.

Always a sucker for a theme, Laney found her rainbow tutu to rock during the party

Laney Christine

Laney,
Now that you are three, I thought I would write down a little bit about your three-year old self as you are ever changing and growing. You are quite simply, amazing.
  • You are so strong. You can do the entire monkey bars without stopping and without help. This amazes every person in the park, every time.
  • You know all of your letters and can write most of them.
  • You can spell and recognize your name.
  • You can write all of the letters in your name.
  • You can write all of the letters in Kendall's name.
  • You can count to 50.
  • You can learn a new song at school in one day and come home and sing it to us.
  • You can have a real phone conversation and love to call people.
  • You are a great big sister.
  • You are a great daughter.
  • You tell us you love us all of the time.
  • You make up silly songs.
  • You dance....alot.
  • You like to hop on one foot...alot.
  • You are a good friend.
  • You are tough.
  • You love dress-ups.
  • You like making up nicknames (Kendall is "Kendallie"; Daddy is "Old Man" or "Boy")
  • You love to ask "why"....alot.
  • You have a great vocabulary - you use words like: investigate and privacy.
  • You know all of the days of the week. You also need your panties to be the right day of the week.
  • You can look at a digital clock and tell us what time it is.
  • You know what time Kendall goes to bed and what time you go to bed and you can look at the clock and figure out when its bed time.
  • You like to introduce Kendall to people. "This is my little sister, Kendall."
  • You love to eat shrimp. You think that Daddy and I eat shrimp for dinner every night.
  • You can ride a scooter.
  • You can ride a bike (with training wheels)
  • You tell people that you have 20 teeth.
  • You love school, your teachers and your friends at school.
  • You can't wait for summer.
  • You remember everything.
  • You are 3 feet, 3 inches, 35lbs.
  • You are beautiful.
  • You are ours.

Laney is Three!

On Laney's birthday, Oma made Laney's favorite food and we had a celebratory dinner at home. Laney opened some presents from Oma and Gee and us.

She wanted a Ladybug Pillow Pet badly - we still don't know where she heard about Pillow Pets - obviously they have a pretty good marketing campaign!

Oma and Gee gave Laney her first big girl bike. Then a few days later, they gave her a second one. The new one is a bit smaller.

Christmas Morning - 2011

This was actually Laney coming down the stairs, the second time. She managed to sneak down a few minutes prior when she heard my parents downstairs.
Santa was here!
Openning and openning

Kendall openned a few without help too.

Santa!

Laney has overcome her fear of Santa! Unfortunately, Kendall felt differently. Maybe next year???
